Created in 2018 by Normal Studio for Sammode, the Paname collection is inspired by the Parisian spirit. A range of high-end designer lighting, available in four models with a unique temperament. Their envelope of metallic lace projects the industrial tube into the domestic and design universe.

Contemporary suspension fixtures in tribute to the City of Light

The story of the Paname collection begins with the Rivoli luminaire. All in black, this elegant light adorns the exhibition galleries of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Normal Studio teamed up with Sammode to produce this designer pendant.

This fruitful collaboration gave rise to the idea of extending the decorative grid principle with other motifs. After numerous prototypes and factory tests, three variations of metal lace were created to complete the original design of the Sammode tube. Following on from Rivoli, Belleville, Vendôme and Monceau, Paname has now been added to the collection, a tribute to the City of Light!

Lighting solutions designed by design agency Normal Studio

Jean-François Dingjian and Eloi Chafaï are the founders of Normal Studio. For over ten years, this Parisian design duo has been experimenting on all scales, from furniture design to architecture and scenography. Accustomed to collaborating with major brands such as Hermès, Prada and Muuto, this industrial design agency reinvents everyday forms in the service of quality of use.

The first meeting with Sammode took place in 2014. A year later, Normal Studio officially took over the reins of artistic direction for the family business. In collaboration with Sammode CEO Emmanuel Gagnez, the creative agency develops a commercial and artistic strategy focused on the domestic universe.

Rivoli, Belleville, Vendôme, Monceau:
4 Parisian neighborhoods, 4 designs, 4 lighting moods

Launched in 2018, the Paname collection features four decorative grilles inspired by Parisian neighborhoods. These four finishes brilliantly combine timeless design and luminous comfort. Each model has its own luminous aura, texture and singular charm.

Rivoli. This is the original project. This slender tube, wrapped in a black perforated grille, reflects the elegance of this historic neighborhood.

Belleville. This neighborhood with its working-class past has become one of the capital’s hottest spots, with its artists’ studios and contemporary artworks. It inspired a grid with a simple, rectilinear motif, an assertive industrial style.

Vendôme. In reference to the temple of haute joaillerie, its grid with printed motifs is inspired by the arteries of this luxury jewelry stronghold. The brass finish with subtle golden highlights transforms it into a veritable jewel.

Monceau. The charcoal-black herringbone grid revisits the herringbone pattern. It evokes the charm of a Haussmann apartment parquet floor, typical of the capital’s upscale neighborhoods.

Ceiling, pendant or wall lights:
luminaires for every use

The Rivoli luminaire features a long, tubular LED shape. The Belleville, Monceau and Vendôme follow the same design. The Belleville offers 360° diffused lighting thanks to its three LED modules. The Monceau and Vendôme provide 180° lighting thanks to six LED bulbs distributed along the length of the luminaire.

From these standard luminescent tubes, Sammode has created a range of luminaire sizes to suit different domestic uses. Little sisters to these large pendant lights, the Mini models set the scene for both indoor and outdoor spaces. The Nano are the smallest sconces in the range, and will soon be complemented by a chandelier. A new addition to this Parisian family is the Floor floor lamp, soon to be added to the Paname collection.
